About Us
What is The Scottish Table?
The Scottish Table is a private and discreet members' club designed to bring people together around dining, conversation and shared experiences.
It is much more than a dining club.
Members can enjoy social events, singles evenings, business networking, Scottish cultural experiences, restaurant benefits, accommodation partnerships and community opportunities.
Our aim is to create a community where people can meet, connect, experience Scotland and give something back.
Is The Scottish Table a singles club?
No.
Singles events are one part of the club, but they are not what defines us.
We may offer:
- Singles Dining Nights
- Single Mums' Nights
- Single Dads' Nights
- Single Parents' Nights
- Friendship events
- Social dining
- Business networking
- Directors' dinners
- Hospitality events
- Scottish experiences
- Charity events
You can join The Scottish Table regardless of your relationship status.
Why would a single person join?
Our singles events are designed to provide a more natural alternative to traditional dating events.
Instead of being told to "date", members can simply enjoy dinner, meet new people and allow connections to develop naturally.
An important difference is that paying members have intentionally chosen to join The Scottish Table.
You are therefore meeting people who have already decided that they want to:
meet people, make connections, experience something different and be part of a community.
Are there events for single parents?
Yes.
We plan to offer dedicated events for:
Single Mums
Single Dads
Single Parents
These can provide opportunities for friendship, socialising and meeting others who understand similar experiences, without every event having to be centred around dating.
What business events will be available?
The Scottish Table will include a growing programme of professional and business dining events.
These may include:
- Business Networking Dinners
- Directors' Dinners
- Entrepreneurs' Tables
- Business Owners' Events
- Women in Business
- Hospitality Directors' Dinners
- Hospitality Networking
- Tourism Networking
- Industry-specific dinners
- Professional social events
We believe relationships can often be built more naturally over a meal than through traditional networking environments.
Is The Scottish Table only about dining?
Dining is the heart of the club, but it is the doorway to connection.
Members may also experience:
- Whisky tastings
- Wine evenings
- Castle dining
- Country-house experiences
- Scottish heritage events
- Theatre and dining
- Live music
- Highland experiences
- Golf and dining
- Afternoon tea
- Seasonal celebrations
- Charity and community events
- Special member experiences
The programme will continue to develop as the club grows.
Do I have to be Scottish to join?
Absolutely not.
The Scottish Table is open to people who want to connect with Scotland and its people.
You may be:
- Visiting Scotland
- Moving to Scotland
- Working here
- Studying here
- Relocating
- Living here temporarily
- Returning to Scotland
- Connected to Scotland through family
- Simply interested in Scottish culture and community
You don't have to be Scottish to have a place at The Scottish Table.
Can visitors to Scotland become members?
Yes.
We want The Scottish Table to be welcoming to people who come to Scotland and want to meet local people rather than simply experience Scotland as a tourist.
Visitors may be able to join selected events and connect with local members during their stay.
Will The Scottish Table operate across Scotland?
Yes.
Our vision is for The Scottish Table to develop communities across all 32 Scottish council areas.
Each area can develop its own local events and community while remaining part of the wider Scottish Table network.
Can I attend events outside my local area?
Yes.
Your membership is intended to travel with you.
For example, a member whose home Table is in the Scottish Borders could attend an event in Edinburgh, while an Edinburgh member could attend a Highland experience.
One membership. One Scottish community.
What are the Founding 100?
The Founding 100 are the first 100 paid members in each Scottish council area.
Each local Founding 100 will have the opportunity to attend a special local launch event and become part of the community from the very beginning.
Founding membership is a special status and is not a separate membership tier.
What is special about being a member?
You become part of a community of people who have intentionally chosen to connect.
Members may enjoy:
- Members-only events
- Member pricing where applicable
- Priority booking where applicable
- Restaurant partner benefits
- Accommodation partner benefits
- Social experiences
- Business networking
- Singles and specialist events
- Scottish experiences
- Opportunities to travel between local Tables
- Member participation in selected community initiatives
Membership gives you access to people, places, experiences and opportunities.
Can non-members attend events?
Yes, where an event is designated as open to non-members.
Some events may be:
Members-only
while others may be open to:
Members and non-members
Examples could include selected charity events, community events, special celebrations or larger public experiences.
Where non-members are welcome, the event listing will clearly state this.
Why would I pay for membership if non-members can attend some events?
Because selected open events are only one part of The Scottish Table.
Paid membership is about belonging to the community and gaining access to member benefits and experiences.
The difference is particularly important socially.
At a members' event, you know the people attending have intentionally joined The Scottish Table because they want to connect and participate.
That shared intention creates a different environment from a general public event.

This is part of our vision for:
Stay. Dine. Meet. Explore.
Can The Scottish Table create jobs?
Yes — this is one of the wider aims of the club.
As local membership and events grow, opportunities may develop in areas including:
- Event coordination
- Event hosting
- Hospitality
- Administration
- Marketing
- Social media
- Photography
- Content creation
- Event support
- Customer service
- Partnership development
- Event safety and stewarding
- Security where appropriately qualified
Can members apply for those jobs?
Yes.
Where suitable opportunities become available, members will be welcome to apply.
Membership does not guarantee employment, but we want members within each local community to have the opportunity to hear about and apply for suitable positions.
We want membership to have the potential to create:
Connections → Opportunities → Experience → Employment
Will events require security?
Some events may require event security, stewarding, first aid or additional safety personnel depending on the venue, event type, size and circumstances.
Where required, appropriately qualified and authorised personnel will be used.
This may also create local opportunities for suitably qualified members and other people within the community.
How does The Scottish Table support charities?
We want the club to give something back.
Under our proposed model, where an eligible club event generates a net profit:
25% will be allocated to a charity selected by members through a monthly vote.
25% will be allocated to the Order of St Stanislas – Priory of Scotland.
50% will remain with The Scottish Table to support the operation, development and growth of the club.
Any charitable arrangement will be managed transparently and in accordance with the club's formal terms and applicable legal, tax and accounting requirements.
What does "private and discreet" mean?
Privacy and discretion are central to the club.
We do not intend to operate a public member directory.
Members choose what personal information they share.
Events will operate around clear standards of respect, courtesy and appropriate behaviour.
Photography and promotional content will be managed in accordance with our privacy and event policies.
Your membership is private. Your connections are yours.
How does The Scottish Table improve my life in Scotland?
Membership can help you:
Meet more people.
Build friendships.
Expand your business network.
Discover new restaurants and experiences.
Explore more of Scotland.
Meet people when you move or travel.
Discover opportunities.
Become part of your local community.
Give something back.
Ultimately, The Scottish Table is about helping you build a bigger social, professional and personal connection to Scotland.
What makes The Scottish Table different?
Because it brings several things together under one private membership:
Dining
Friendship
Business
Singles
Family & social connection
Scottish experiences
Travel
Hospitality
Local opportunities
Community
Charity
You don't have to choose just one reason to belong.
There is always another table, another experience and another connection waiting for you.
What is the philosophy behind The Scottish Table?
We believe:
A stranger can become a friend.
A conversation can become a business relationship.
A dinner can become a memory.
A new member can become part of a community.
And a club can create opportunities that reach beyond its members.
That's why we created The Scottish Table.
There's Always Room at The Scottish Table.
Dine. Connect. Network. Experience Scotland. Give Back.
Beyond the ordinary
